After relocating to Asheville, North Carolina, she practiced as a registered nurse and charge nurse on an orthopedic unit and later in nursing education at Mission Hospital until 1999. In 1992, Paula completed the Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Program at Emory University. She founded E.T. Consultant Services, Inc. in 1997, a mobile private practice she continues to lead as President and consultant specialty nurse. Her practice provides expert care in ostomy, wound, continence, and foot care across all care settings and throughout the lifespan. Paula is also certified as a legal nurse consultant, offering medical record review and expert testimony in medical litigation based on established standards of care. Paula remains actively engaged in professional service and community involvement and resides in Asheville, North Carolina with her husband. She is a dedicated volunteer within her church and local community.
