By Nancy Lavin, Rhode Island Current
Homebound Rhode Islanders now have access to the foot care they need. On April 9, 2026, Rhode Island Current reported that the Rhode Island General Assembly passed legislation allowing certified nurses to provide home foot care, including toenail trimming and callus reduction, for homebound and medically vulnerable patients. With this law, Rhode Island becomes the 50th state to permit this care.
